General FAQ’s/Safety

  1. Are all items left handed? Most items are actually right handed or centered for both. The name left handed glass actually comes from slang. In the 1950s a left handed cigarette was slang for a marijuana joint. Sorry to disappoint you lefties out there!
  2. How can I clean my piece? No HOT water. You can use any 420 cleaner or isopropyl alcohol/salt. Most standard cleaning plugs fit these pieces too. Warm soapy water for the exterior. Feel free to email me with any questions at [email protected]
  3. Can you duplicate a piece? Sometimes I can. It depends on the piece and your budget. I find most of my items are thrift shops and yard sales. So to duplicate a piece may mean sourcing it on the internet with a higher price tag.  Not always the case though! I love to work on custom orders, visit the customs section for more information.
  4. Questions about Lead and Vintage Glass

Disclaimer: I am not an expert, please use your own discretion/judgement. There is a risk for any vintage item to contain lead.

Vintage glass (and new glass) can contain small amounts of lead.   I will not use any glass specifically marked decoration/ not for food use. I don’t use crystal ( crystal glass is leaded).  The US government adopted a lead paint law in 1978, along with many other lead safety guidelines.   Many pottery glazes can also include lead.  Lead at any level unhealthy, specifically for children.

Lead (and copper) can leach into your liquids/food when leaded dinnerware or drink-ware is used.

My pieces are labeled as functional art, they are best for occasional use. Water should be changed daily (even with your traditional glassware, keep those lungs healthy).

Lead has unfortunately found its way into our every day life (drinking water alone). And high levels of lead can cause serious medical conditions. Please use at your discretion.
